Since 1993, the Global Retreat Centre near Oxford has welcomed thousands of people from across the world. The Centre offers residential and one-day retreats, as well as lectures, seminars and courses on meditation, personal growth and spiritual development.
It is administered by the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University UK – a registered charity since 1975. Around the world the Brahma Kumaris work in local communities in more than 120 countries, teaching Raja Yoga Meditation as a way of life to experience peace of mind and a positive approach to life. Locally, our services are offered via an extensive network of professional trained volunteers, right in the heart of communities.

I’ve been to two retreats at Global retreat centre. I stayed over two night on one retreat. I just want to say that it was 5* accommodation and wonderful food.. the talks were full of BKs wisdom and lighthearted fun. I came away feeling lighter in my heart and soul. I really changed my outlook on a lot of parts of my life and really feel grateful that this charity is doing such great retreats. The BKs work tirelessly and quietly in community all over the world.. empowering people to be the best versions of themselves. I really love visiting GRC. There is such a peaceful, calm unhurried vibe here. I always feel more connected to myself and others after my visit. The teachings are so honest and full of love. It's my happy place. Thank you all at GRC for making a committrment to serve mankind. 🙏
Life changing meditation course over 4 Wednesdays in August 23 with Mina. Cannot recommend this enough for beginners or experienced meditators

Was fortunate of being invited to their open day after a long wait for a full refurbishment to be completed! what a remarkable day, nice to see the sisters again, a joyous occasion, meditation maze was enlightening, wishing tree, self worth mirrors, talks, literature, and much more, all very inspiring. I have been here many times on day retreats, found to be calming, soul searching in such a peaceful enviournment, The sisters are pure love, I love them dearly

I love GRC anyway because it is my new birth place. Now that it has been refurbished, I would give 7 stars - if possible. I felt filled with a soft & gentle feeling of contentment and peace.

I have been coming here more years than I care to think about- it's a wonderful place, with even more wonderful people. I have always had difficulty meditating before I came here, and they sorted that out for me no problem. I can never thank you enough- especially Matthew, who was really helpful.

Want Not
Next time you are waiting for anything, notice what you are wanting! This will be a source of your tension or impatience. All desire has fear built in - fear of not getting or losing, even before your desire is fulfilled.
If you want to be free of fear in life, which is another way of saying if you want to be free of stress, the secret is to want nothing, and then magic happens, for lo and behold, all that you need and more, arrives in your life, at the right time, in the right way. Not what they told us in kindergarten was it?
